  5. Do you know how to generate the symbol for ╥╔ is not a subset of ╔╙? I 
  6. give you a hint: it╒s in the Symbol font. You can╒t find it in the Key 
  7. Caps DA? That╒s because you first have to press option-` and then 
  8. shift-A; Key Caps won╒t help you with such sequences. What? It does not 
  9. work? Ah, you have a German keyboard! Sorry, I can╒t help you then╔

  11. You can now avoid experimenting with the Key Caps DA or looking 
  12. characters up in keystroke/character tables. Whenever you want to 
  13. insert a special character into your word processor document and you 
  14. don╒t know the proper key combination (or sequence), pull down the 
  15. Character Map DA from the apple menu, select the desired font from the 
  16. CharMap menu, find the character in the map, click on it, copy it into 
  17. the Clipboard and paste it into your document. Of course, Character Map 
  18. inserts the character in the font that╒s currently active within your 
  19. document. Thus you may have to select the generated character and 
  20. format it with the desired font.

  22. Version 1.1 works now in a similar way as the Key Caps DA provided by 
  23. Apple. The generated characters appear in a line of text in the 
  24. Character Map window. Character Map does not generate keystrokes any 
  25. more, since it turned out that some word processors ignore keyboard 
  26. events when none of their windows is active, and this technique did not 
  27. work with other DAs. Now Character Map should work with all word 
  28. processors and all drawing programs and even with other desk 
  29. accessories.

  31. The best thing is that Character Map DA is completely free. You can use 
  32. it and distribute it, but you must not take money for it. Should you
